Facts about the 2011 CHALLENGE(S):

The CHALLENGE is for current 9th, 10th and 11th graders.

The JR CHALLENGE is for current 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

A chance to perform for a possible invitation to the ELITE CHALLENGE and to the JR ELITE CHALLENGE.

Top performers at the JR ELITE CHALLENGE and the ELITE CHALLENGE will be profiled on the Team First website.

The top junior and sophomore at the ELITE CHALLENGE will receive free Team First Marketing for one year. The top freshman at the ELITE CHALLENGE will receive a free invitation to attend the 2 day Team First Football Academy in Greenville, IL.

The top 6th, 7th and 8th graders at the ELITE JR CHALLENGE will receive a free invitation to attend the 2 day Team First Football Academy in Greenville, IL.

The United States Army, Russell Athletics and Baden are sponsors of the CHALLENGE

The purpose of the Challenge

The purpose of the CHALLENGE is to give football players early exposure to the recruiting process. It is our desire to give football players the best and earliest opportunity to gain a football scholarship. Team First has the desire to identify the best 6th- 11th grade football players in the nation.

The CHALLENGE will give you the opportunity to test and compete against other football players, thus giving you the opportunity to gauge where you are as a football player.

The Challenge

The CHALLENGE allows individuals the opportunity to participate in the following events: 40 yard dash, shuttle run, L drill, vertical jump, and broad jump. They will also participate in speed /agility drills, position-specific drills, and 1 on 1 competition. Selected players will be asked to participate in 7on 7 drills after the competition.

Results of the CHALLENGE will be sent out to a number of universities/colleges in the country that plays football (NCAA Division I, Division IAA, Division II, Division III, NAIA and Junior College. The information included will be combine stats, school, and address information. This information will allow colleges to enter your name in their recruiting database if they deem you a prospect.

In 2011 the CHALLENGE will be held at 5 sites, Edwardsville, Bloomington, New Lenox, Rockford and Naperville.

  • In 2011 the JR CHALLENGE will be held at 2 sites, Edwardsville and Joliet.
  • Both the JR ELITE CHALLENGE and the ELITE CHALLENGE will be held in July at a Division I university. The ELITE events are invitation only.

CHALLENGE offers an opportunity to:

  • to learn what combine testing is all about
  • to showcase your talents and ability
  • to compete against athletes in your grade and class

National  football recruiting analyst Tom Lemming and Illinois football recruiting analyst Edgy Tim will be invited to attend the ELITE CHALLENGE. Top athletes will be profiled and written about on a number of websites.
